To celebrate our print rebrand we’ve got one of Britain’s biggest bands on our front cover, rock behemoths Foals. Following their triumphant headline performance on Glastonbury’s Other Stage, we caught up with Frontman Yannis Philippakis for a fascinating conversation which you can read over 12 epic pages in which we discuss the group's incredible seventh album ‘Life Is Yours’, dream remixes and the visceral sensation of returning to the stage.
If that wasn’t enough we talked to Vieux Farka Touré and the acclaimed American psychedelic rock trio Khruangbin to discuss the pair's collaborative tribute album ‘Ali’ to Vieux's legendary father, Ali Farka Touré, considered by many as one of the greatest guitarists of all time.
We caught up once more with Isle Of Wight’s slacker pop superstar Lauran Hibberd as she releases her highly anticipated debut album. Across the ocean, we chat with American folk rock stars Peach Pit following their sold-out run of UK dates including a conquering of the Kentish Town Forum. LA Synth-pop stars Cannons join us in a track-by-track breakdown of their recent album ‘Fever Dream’.
Excitingly, over the course of the creation of this issue, we’ve moved permanently to wonderful Wales. To celebrate we caught up with two of Cardiff’s most exciting new music exports; punk quartet Panic Shack blew us away when we saw them tear apart Bedford’s Esquires earlier this year so they were a natural first choice to introduce us to the local music scene.
Meanwhile, Mace The Great became the first Welsh rapper to perform at the iconic SXSW Festival, alongside an already incredible year which saw him become an Independent Venue Ambassador and part of the Mobo Unsung Class of 2022. They become the first two artists in a commitment from us as a publication to amplify and support our local Welsh community.
