Track Of The Week (30/07/21)

Euan Blackman
24 Hours 7 Days

Euan Blackman has the rare ability to stop you in your tracks when you hear his music. His latest single ‘24 Hours 7 Days’ is no exception

19-year-old singer-songwriter Euan Blackman has the rare ability to stop you in your tracks when you hear his music. His latest single ‘24 Hours 7 Days’ is no exception. A delicate melody composed by Blackman is at the core of the track, his light vocals feel warm and inviting as he yearns for an absent love. His sound and songwriting have already been praised by the likes of Radio 1 DJ Jack Saunders, acclaimed folk artist Benjamin Francis Leftwich and Linkin Park’s Mike Shinoda and it’s not hard to see why.

There’s relatability and wisdom in his words, he touches on subjects of separation, isolation with a poetic touch “I guess this rented house will never feel like a home” he sings in the opening verse before blossoming into the tracks romantic and pining chorus. It’s no mean feat to write, create music and self produce your tracks to this level, despite being created in a bedroom the track is full of life, begging to be played through headphones whilst strolling through nature.

This may only be the beginning of Euan Blackman’s journey, but it already feels like an exciting one to be on.
